Those working within the public sector are legally bound to comply with the Prevent duty with an awareness of the duty being vital to best practice.
WRAP stands for Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent. It is a 60-90 minute long session that includes a presentation and group exercise. The session introduces the Prevent strategy, discusses referral pathways and explores radicalisation as a phenomenon.
- The purpose of Prevent
- The process of radicalisation
- How to identify when someone may be vulnerable to radicalisation
- How to raise concerns and what a proportionate response looks like
Attendees should leave WRAP sessions with the ability to notice concerns that may make individuals vulnerable to radicalisation, what a proportionate response looks like and the confidence to raise concerns when someone may be at risk.
The WRAP session will also be tailored to the local context of Croydon and is an opportunity for audience members to ask any questions they have on Prevent related issues.
