Overview of the course

This course will enable you to perform your statutory functions with confidence and competence, building on existing awareness to support effective and objective decision-making

 

Course Objectives

By the end of this course particiats will be able to:

  • Describe what Domestic Abuse is & understand the dynamics at play, including in respect of coercive control & in relation  to stalking & Honour Based Abuse
  • Identify indicators of significant risk or homicide and/or escalation & use the DASH-RIC to formally assess this
  • Understand how to interrogate risk assessment data to inform decision-making
  • Demonstrate awareness of multi-agency risk management panels for high-risk cases, understand how these link to each other & know how & when to make refer
